Voldemort has been defeated. After all these years, he is now gone, destroyed by his own spell, by none other than Harry Potter.
The Battle of Hogwarts has just been won, and rebuilding must take place. Students are staying one extra year at Hogwarts until the first years of 1997 graduate from their eighth year, because last year the students did not learn what they needed to. Peace and rebuilding are all around, but trouble is stirring deep in the Ministry of Magic in the depths of the Department of Mysteries. A new young researcher was observing the veil in the room where they study death, when he tripped, and his wand sent off a spell right into the veil. It was then that wizards who had died in England began coming back to life, at seemingly random ages and from random times. However, the ministry only found this out when Remus Lupin showed up at the ministry, where they checked Lupin's grave and found his body missing and the DNA of the boy matched Remus's. However, Remus only remembers everything up until he was 17 years old.
The Ministry has not been able to keep this event covered up, because people seem to pop up in random places around England. Now there are some who insist on repairing whatever happened, and others who want to wait until their loved ones have been revived before repairing what happened. However, no one has yet to notice that with each resurrection, a muggle dies at the moment of the resurrection. They may never know because they do not know when a resurrection takes place. There is no known pattern.
Some have noticed how threatening this could become, if Voldemort is resurrected, but will they risk him coming back for those they love? Will the veil even be able to be fixed? Will the most dangerous people in history come back and wreck havoc?
